On January 13, 2023, he was sentenced under Part 3 of Art. 30, Part 2 of Art. 208 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Attempted participation on the territory of a foreign state in an armed formation not provided for by the legislation of this state, for purposes contrary to the interests of the Russian Federation") to 7 years in a strict regime penal colony with restriction of freedom for 1 year and 6 months after release.
